I have asked for an update from the Branch Manager of the Infrastructure Planning & Design department.  I wanted to share that update with you.   “The current funding and approval by Council for the development of a rectangular artificial turf facility is based on a needs assessment along with community consultation completed between 2004 - 2007. Together, these activities contributed to the 2008 Site Development Plan for Terwillegar Heights District Park. This project also aligns with the Artificial Turf City Plan that identifies the Terwillegar location as a priority site. The consultation to date has demonstrated support for the location and program of the artificial turf facility. ........read more

City Council finalizes property tax rates every spring after the Government of Alberta announces the education tax it requires the City to collect to support the Alberta education system. Due to Edmonton’s economy slowing down in 2016, Council worked hard to keep the budget increase as small as possible.  This resulted in the smallest increase in 10 years...Read more

Over the next few weeks, school zone signs will be installed at 22 junior high schools. The 30 km/h speed limitis in effect during the designated school-zone hours from the moment the signs are up. The remaining 21 school zones will be posted over the summer bringing the total to 43 when school starts in September.
