This work will be to construct a replacement bridge. On March 13, 2014 the public was invited to an information session to learn more about the project, including road closures, traffic detours and temporary bus routes during construction.
The century-old 102 Avenue over Groat Road Bridge will be demolished and replaced with a new bridge that maintains the existing four-lanes of traffic and accommodates both bike lanes and sidewalks. The project also includes brief shoring work on the Wellington Bridge that will allow truck traffic to reach the work site.
Construction is expected to last 15 months.
